The provincial government is giving three York Region hospitals a combined cash injection of nearly $900,000 for repairs and upgrades.

Mackenzie Health, which oversees the Richmond Hill hospital (formerly York Central) and the future Vaughan hospital, scored $757,128, according to a news release.

Markham Stouffville Hospital and Southlake Regional Health Centre, in Newmarket, are getting $64,086 and $75,068 respectively.

The funds will enable the hospitals to make improvements including upgrades or replacements to roofs, windows, heating, and air- conditioning systems, fire alarms, and backup generators, the news release said.

The investment in York Region’s hospitals is part of $175 million being given to hospitals across Ontario this year for repairs and upgrades through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
