“It is always an emotional time for us at the Walk for Cancer Care," said Peter Badali, co-founder of Vaughan in Motion, when referring to the Walk for Cancer Care held on April 30th inside Vaughan Mills.

“Cancer affects us all, and each of us has a story of a loved one afflicted or still carrying on the fight."

“Vaughan in Motion is a 100% volunteer-staffed, not-for-profit organization dedicated to provide funds and equipment for cancer care in our community," stated Badali.

Since 1997 they have directed over 1.1 million dollars to cancer care! 100% of all pledged monies from the Walk go to the cancer care program at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital.
Almost 500 children, parents and grandparents filled Vaughan Mills to pledge their support and walk 3 times around the inside of the mall. Before and after they were all entertained by the Arcadia Academy of Music band, Batman and more superheroes, Aaron Matthews and of course Doo Doo the Clown.

The presenting sponsors Michael Bros and Arcadia Academy of Music joined the committee and some the York Catholic District School Board staff on stage along with Mackenzie Health Foundation to honour the survivors and remember those loved ones who have fallen to cancer and those still battling this disease. This year the walk was dedicated to the memory of Livia and Frank Zambito.

The committee is now in the planning stages for next years Walk for Cancer Care to be held inside Vaughan Mills on Sunday, April 29th, 2018. The battle continues on!
