The heavy rain on Friday meant much higher water conditions all over York Region.

Our York Region media photographer, Steve Somerville, caught this image Friday afternoon at the Humber River Bridge Trail Road of the Humber River.

Steve was crossing the river at Highway 27 in Vaughan and his image shows a much faster flowing river that he said is "higher for sure than normal."

Driving rain throughout the day is sure to mean more problems with flooding throughout the Greater Toronto Area and in York Region.

Environment Canada is calling for as much as 50 to 70 millimetres of rainfall throughout Friday and Saturday.

The rain is expected to lighten up Saturday evening and we could even have some light flurries as temperatures drop to the low single digits on Sunday.

By Monday, it's expected the thermometer will crawl back up to 6 C with sunny conditions.
