Ajax approves changes to council composition

April 26 the Town of Ajax council approved changes in its council composition that will reduce the number of wards from four to three. The reduction makes room for an additional seat for the town on Durham Region council. Whereas the town currently has four local councillors, two regional councillors and the mayor, after the changes come into effect it will have three local councillors, three regional councillors and the mayor. The changes will be implemented in time for the 2018 municipal elections.
