Asphalt laid around a parked car on a busy Montreal thoroughfare was the subject of social media mirth on Tuesday.

On May 23 as Quebec’s construction strike loomed, workers contracted by the City of Montreal laid asphalt around a parked car on Boulevard Rene Levesque.

With a work stoppage scheduled to begin at midnight, The Demix contracting company chose to pave around the car rather than waiting for it to be towed.
