The City of Vaughan joined thousands of communities and millions of people around the world on March 25th to shine a light on climate change. Earth Hour has become a global movement that raises awareness and sends a powerful message that united, people can make a difference.
Earth Hour is celebrated by powering down and turning off the lights for one hour between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Since 2007, more than 7,000 cities in 172 countries and territories have participated in the event.
The community was invited to join Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council for the 10th annual Earth Hour Vaughan event at City Hall on March 25th starting at 6:30 p.m. Featured activities included candlelit yoga, night cycle ride, lantern walk, live entertainment and Vaughan’s very own Green Hero Award presentation.
