Residents across York Region now have access to libraries of all nine municipalities.
An agreement between nine public libraries in York Region formed the York Region Public Library Partnership (YRPLP) effective April 20, 2017.
YRPLP libraries extend full borrowing privileges without a membership charge to anyone who lives, works, owns properties or attends an educational institution in any York Region municipality in the YRPLP agreement.
Whitchurch-Stouffville public library CEO Carolyn Nordheimer James calls it a “positive step” in the direction of “collaboration and co-operation” between York Region libraries.
Borrowers are required to observe the rules and regulations of the lending library and must return materials to the library from which they were borrowed.
As library policies might differ, borrowers are recommended to verify policies when getting library cards.
