The massive 2,400-residential unit York Downs development will be on the agenda when Markham's development services committee holds a public meeting Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m.
There has been intense interest in the Kylemore/Angus Glen/Metropia proposal that involved a $412-million purchase of the private golf club land and would seek to build on 308 acres of the 417-acre property.
So far, the proposal is in its early stages with a few public sessions with the residents association and a development services committee meeting March 20 that saw most neighbours speak out against the mammoth development.
There are still many hurdles to cross for the developers in addition to consultations expected with residents who are expected to offer suggestions to alter the proposal.
The April 5 meeting takes place in council chambers.
