The 13th Annual Family Literacy Day Event Hosted By VPL

On Jan. 26th, Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) and the City Playhouse Theatre invited families to the 13th annual, free, Family Literacy Day celebration at the City Playhouse Theatre. Families from around the community came dressed in their pyjamas and participated in an evening of fun-filled activities that inspire family literacy. Kids and adults alike enjoyed singing songs, listening to stories with VPL librarians, spontaneous puppet shows by the kids, creating arts and crafts and checking out the selection of VPL books available at the event. Jill Javelosa-Alvarez, author of ABC, ABC What Do You See? led a special bedtime story event filled with songs, play and lots of laughter. It truly was fun for the whole family.
