Vaughan residents wishing to express condolences to those who lost their lives or were injured in last Sunday’s shooting at a Quebec mosque can now do so through an online tribute page set up by the city.
You are invited to log on to the Facebook page, announced by city officials Friday afternoon, and post your comments.
The City of Vaughan’s gesture comes as vigils are being organized in other York Region municipalities – including Markham, Newmarket, Stouffville, Richmond Hill and Aurora – in response to the shooting at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec on Jan. 29 that killed six Muslim men and injured 19 others.
Alexandre Bissonnette, 27, faces six counts of murder and an additional five counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting as Canadians from coast to coast mourn the six men killed.
