The East Gwillimbury Sports Complex is getting a little bit of a facelift thanks to a little help from the federal government. The town is receiving $104,500 from the federal government through the community infrastructure program to purchase a new desiccant dehumidifier for the arena.
The $104,500 represents half the cost of the $209,000 project. The remaining money for the dehumidifier will come from the town’s facilities reserve.
In June 2016, the government announced a grant intake for community infrastructure projects. A total of seven projects were submitted from East Gwillimbury. The desiccant dehumidifier project at the East Gwillimbury Sports Complex was one of the projects submitted for grant funding.
