Vaughan is getting a new nine-bay inter-regional bus terminal with an underground connection to the Viva bus rapidway and the TTC subway, set to open later this year.
The announcement of the $32.1-million terminal, to be located just off Millway Avenue north of Highway 7, was made Wednesday morning with Vaughan-Woodbridge MP Francesco Sorbara, Vaughan MPP and Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca, York Regional Chair Wayne Emmerson and Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua all at the site of the proposed terminal.
Various levels of government are pitching in to pay the cost of the terminal, dubbed the SmartCentres Place Bus Terminal, which is scheduled to open around the same time as the subway station, by the end of 2017.
