York Region is where talent and opportunity meet.
That is the message of the region’s new strategy to attract more businesses.
The campaign, called York Link, will reach out to business decision-makers across the Greater Toronto Area and abroad to promote the region’s benefits.
It will also focus on the region’s centres and corridors, which are aimed at driving business growth, as well as its easy access to major highways, public transit, competitively priced office space, skilled work force and quality of life.
With more than 50,000 businesses, York is the second largest business centre in Ontario but must do more to attract new companies, regional chair Wayne Emmerson said.
“The reality is competition across the GTA to attract new office buildings is fierce,” he said at the campaign’s launch. “So we must redouble our efforts to tell the world what we already know, that York Region is the best place in Canada to do business.
The campaign will include a website (yorklink.ca), social media, newspaper advertorials, a video and a booth to be used at events and trade shows.
