Uber now operating legally in Niagara

Uber is now operating legally in Niagara.

In June, the police service board announced it approved a revised licensing by-law with new regulations for Transporation Network Companies, like Uber.

Last week, Board Chair Bob Gale indicated the required documents had not yet been received from Uber in Niagara and that they were operating illegally.

However, Gale says over the weekend Uber and the Police service have solved most of their issues.

Gale adding money has now been fully paid, and insurance documents received.

The procedure for drivers checks via secure electronic transfer has started.

Gale says only a few minor issues remain and anticipates they'll be resolved soon.
