Why Is Nigeria Important To Canadian Business?
Nigeria is the second largest economy in Africa, with the majority of its export revenue coming from oil. With the volatile state of oil nationally & globally, this emerging market sees diversification of its economy as a means to facilitate growth.
In May 2015 Canada and Nigeria signed the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA). For potential investors, CNB2B Tradeshow could not have come at a more ideal time. The Government of Canada also reports that in 2015 “Nigeria was Canada’s second largest bilateral merchandise trading partner in sub-Saharan Africa, with bilateral merchandise trade totaling $1.45 billion.”
What Topics Will Be Covered During This Event?
Agricultural production, the main source of revenue before oil took lead, has re-emerged as an area of concentration for the Nigerian government. It is one of the many sectors that investors and over 2,000 expected attendees will be able to explore at the tradeshow and seminars. Others include: Banking & Finance Services; Building & Construction Materials; Education; Environment & Waste Management; Medicals & Pharmaceuticals; Mining & Energy; Real Estate & Estate Management.
Those curious about topics such as the importing and exporting process, security and conducting business in either country will be have their questions answered by Ministry of Trade and Investments, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce and Nigerian Export Promotions Council. Outside of the business community, the event is also open to students.
Who Will Be Speaking At This Event?
Partnering with this year’s events as sponsors are OZ Consulting Firm, Wakanow, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Agri-veg Equipment, Medez Financial Service, Foray, Northwood Travels and Tours Ltd, and the Town of Richmond Hill.
