Two Woodbridge brothers have launched a social media initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat an aggressive, terminal form of childhood brain cancer that claimed the life of their sister.

Lucas and Laurence Fiorini launched Jordana’s Rainbows, which encourages people to take part in monthly challenges, share it on Instagram and Facebook then nominate others to take the challenges as well.

The brothers, age 12 and 8 respectively, started the initiative to honour their 10-year-old sister, Jordana, who died Jan. 22,

just four months after being diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an incurable cancer.

The brothers posted the first challenge - to perform a random act of kindness - on June 22.

Since then, Jordana’s Rainbows has gained nearly 1,500 followers with close to 400 challenges being completed.

The second challenge - where participants had to make a video to tell someone how they’d positively impacted them, was issued July 22.

That challenge caught the attention of TFC all-star striker Sebastian Giovinco who took part.

The next challenge is to be issued Monday, Aug. 22.
