The City of Vaughan and the union representing more than 600 full-time public servants who work for Vaughan have come to a four-year deal.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 905 reached a contract settlement ratified by Vaughan Council June 28 and CUPE membership the following day.

The terms of the agreement include wage increases of 1.5 per cent for the first two years (2016 and 2017), 1.625 per cent for 2018 and 1.75 per cent for 2019. CUPE Local 905 represents approximately 600 full-time clerical and technical as well as hourly employees in Vaughan.

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua saluted the four-year agreement as a win-win for residents and employees.

“Delivering high-quality services and programs for our residents is a priority and by reaching this four-year agreement for hundreds of employees, we are demonstrating our commitment to the people who work for this City and contribute to its continued success,” said Bevilacqua.
