The Vaughan City Hall YMCA Kids Challenge Walk-A-Thon

Snapd Vaughan East
July 2016

Last month over 19,000 kids from over 300 YMCA Child Care Centres, Ontario Early Years Centres/Family Support Programs, Before & After School programs, and 20 elementary schools walked in support of the YMCA Kids Challenge, an exciting fundraising event, which will help give kids the first steps to a healthy life. Together they had challenged themselves to walk collectively ‘across the GTA’ - this is over 700,000 kms and that they did. The Vaughan City Hall YMCA Child Care Centre held its Kids Challenge Walk A Thon on May 26th. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua kicked off the walk as all the little ones, staff and parents got going on their trail! The YMCA of Greater Toronto is a charity offering opportunities for personal growth, community involvement and leadership. Their vision is that our communities will be home to the healthiest children, teens and young adults. The YMCA of Greater Toronto’s values are: caring, health, honesty, inclusiveness, respect and responsibility.
