Muslim Festival of Vaughan aims to break down stereotypes

An annual street festival aimed at raising awareness, breaking down stereotypes and promoting harmony is slated to take place next weekend.
The third annual Muslim Festival of Vaughan runs Saturday, July 23, from noon until 7 p.m. at Vellore Woods Heritage Area, 9541 Weston Rd.
The event, organized by The Canadian Association of Multicultural People (CAMP) in partnership with Mom Links Canada and GTA Muslim youth groups features rides, displays of Muslim cultural artwork and fashions, henna tattoos, food and more.
East Woodbridge Councillor Rosanna DeFrancesca serves as honorary chair of the annual event, launched in 2014.
