National Public Works Day

Snapd Woodbridge/Snapd Vaughan East
June 2016

The City of Vaughan Public Works Department, celebrated National Public Works Day this year on May 14th, 2016. This was the best opportunity to come out and learn about the services Public Works staff provides and how they are improving connections in our environment. There were also multiple activities enjoyed by the public such as, mulch giveaways, which was given to guests who brought reusable containers or paper bags. Secondly, people had the chance to experience Public Works displays and live demonstrations; to learn about City vehicles, water quality, sanitary sewers, solid waste management, roads maintenance and much more! Some of the children’s activities included a photo booth and colouring tables. Of course, the most exciting part as always were the prizes, raffles and giveaways! There were many incredible participants as well; some were from Vaughan Fire & Rescue Services, York Regional Police, York Region, Miller Waste, ORCGA, Powerstream and more!
