We often talk about the traffic congestion in the city of Toronto, but what about the 905?

York Region is holding a series of panel discussions for residents, starting Tuesday, to talk about the traffic headaches in their area and possible solutions for the future.

It's called "Traffic Beyond the 6ix," and the region will be asking local drivers what their experience is like.

Angela Gibson with the region's transportation services department says that York Region has the shortest travel distances and yet the slowest travel times in the GTA.

She says they expect it to get worse as more and more people move into the area. Over the next 25 years, she says York Region will have the largest share of population growth.

One of the solutions they want to look at is how to integrate technology into infrastructure to improve congestion.

You can find more information about the panel discussions on York Region's website.
