The Vaughan Design Review Panel will consider the following items at its meeting Thursday, May 26 at 9:00 a.m. in Committee Room 244, Vaughan city hall.

PRESENTATIONS

9:15 a.m.

Mixed-use residential development-The panel will undertake its first review of 9637133 Canada’s proposed mixed-use development at 8188 Yonge Street, south of Uplands Avenue. The 15,750m development includes a 13-storey residential building with at-grade retail along Yonge Street and integrated townhouses along Uplands Avenue. Presentations will be made by City of Vaughan urban designer Shahrzad Davoudi-Strike and planner Carol Birch, and KirKor Architects + Planners senior partner Clifford Korman.

10:55 a.m.

Infill residential and heritage development-The panel will undertake its first review of Ace Developments’ proposed low-rise residential development on a heritage site located at 2057 Major Mackenzie Drive, east of the Go Rail Line and south of Major Mackenzie Drive. The 6,587m infill proposal includes 86 stacked townhouses and restoration of the Joshua Oliver House, a fieldstone construction Regency Cottage home erected between 1837 and1840. Presentations will be made by City of Vaughan urban designer Shahrzad Davoudi- Strike, cultural heritage coordinator Daniel Rende and planner Mark Antoine, and Weston Consulting associate Jeff Greene and Icon Architects principal Hoordad Ghandehari.
