Bauer Hockey to open retail outlet in Vaughan

Equipment manufacturer Bauer Hockey has announced it will open its first Canadian Own The Moment retail outlet, complete with a rink with full-sized boards and glass, in Vaughan, Ont.

Slated to open in the summer of 2017, the Toronto Own The Moment Hockey Experience will become the third location for the brand.

Last year, Bauer Hockey opened its Own The Moment Hockey Experience in the Boston suburb of Burlington, Mass. and its second location in Bloomington, Minn., just outside of Minneapolis.

Bauer Hockey plans to open a total of eight to 10 locations throughout North America, indicates a media release issued May 12.

Bauer Hockey is the world's leading manufacturer of hockey equipment and a subsidiary of Performance Sports Group Ltd.

The Vaughan outlet will cover 24,000 square feet and will be located at 67 Colossus Dr. within the RioCan Colossus Centre at the crossroads of Hwy. 400/Hwy. 407/Hwy. 7 and Weston Road.

The retail centre includes major retailers such as Cineplex Colossus, Golf Town and Costco.

The Toronto store will feature a 3,200-square-foot indoor ice rink with regulation boards and glass - almost 20 per cent the size of an NHL-sized rink.

Performance Sports Group is headquartered in Exeter, N.H. Bauer was founded in Kitchener, Ont. in 1927.
