Vaughan's Cogliano just second NHLer to start career with 700 consecutive games played

It’s something Vaughan’s Andrew Cogliano apparently does NOT like to talk about.
So we will.
It is the 700 consecutive National Hockey League games the fleet-footed local has skated in since lacing them up for the Edmonton Oilers way back in October 2007. He hit the 700 mark Sunday night and hits the ice for 701 tonight.
Cogliano, 28, has never missed a game in nine seasons. Now with the Anaheim Ducks, Cogliano is Mr. Dependable for coach Bruce Broudreau, a player he can count on in every game.
He’s also just the second ever NHLer to start his career having played 700 straight without a missed game. The other is all-time Iron Man leader Doug Jarvis, who played 964 from the start of his career before missing a contest.
Cogliano was a first-round pick (25th overall) of the Oilers in 2005 after lighting up the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League with the St. Michael’s Buzzers notching 102 points in just 49 games. He went on to spend two years at the University of Michigan before joining the Oilers.
