1,800 York Region employees made more than $100K in 2015

More than 1,800 York Region employees made more than $100,000 last year, including 1,152 York Regional Police employees.

The numbers are part of the Ontario's annual public sector salary disclosure, commonly known as the Sunshine List.

The list includes the names, salaries and total taxable benefits of all provincial public sector employees.

The precise number of York Region employees on the list is 1,812.

The total number of names on the list grew once again this year by about 4,000, to 115,432, despite the fact Hydro One employees were dropped from the list this year after the company was partially privatized.

York Region District School Board had 712 employees on the list; the York Catholic board, 399; the French public board (Viamonde), 97; and the French Catholic board (Centre-Sud), 101.
