The Vaughan Juried Exhibition - An Art Integration Project: Inspired Cities took place at Vaughan City Hall on Feb. 11th as Artist Auerbach Vieira and members of council were present, including Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. Vaughan is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Canada with a strong diverse population and a strong community. In keeping with the transformational vision for the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, artists from Vaughan and the GTA were invited to interpret the theme of Inspired Cities and submit original two-dimensional work for consideration in the City's annual juried art exhibition. The art selected depicts a dynamic vocabulary of symbolic expression that both defines and celebrates the heart and identity of metropolitan cities. Artist Auerbach released her artist statement by saying "The skyline of any City is signature, it will bring a new identity to Vaughan. Making sure there's connection between residents and the concrete. The multicultural pictured here in different human shapes, shaping our City and the vibrant and exciting colors of the 'NEW.'"
