Although winter can sometimes be tough to handle, the City of Vaughan always knows how to make the season entertaining-especially during WinterFest.

On Feb. 21st, people from across the community united at the Vellore Village Community Centre to celebrate the 27th WinterFest and the City’s 25th Anniversary.

After Mayor Bevilacqua and Members of Council officially welcomed the crowd, everyone was off to roaming the Community Centre grounds. Outside was transformed into a fairground with a Ferris wheel, a CN mini train, horse-drawn wagons, an ice-carving station and a skating rink. Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service displays were inside and outside the Centre granting everyone photo opportunities and a chance to learn more on safety. Entertainment and photo opportunities were also hosted on stage, in nearby booths and inside the Centre by special guest stars, including Lalaloopsy, the “unbelievable” Doo Doo the Clown, Star Wars’ Storm Troopers, Scout Troopers & Darth Vader, the highly-talented Mini Pop Kids and many other talented guests. While the entertainment brought in a constant flow of people, the mouth-watering food, including fluffy pancakes, also kept all satisfied-helping to make this year’s WinterFest another success.
