King Township has settled on a date for its Living with Coyotes Workshop.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Schomberg Public Library, 77 Main St., Schomberg.

Representatives from the Toronto Wildlife Centre and Coyote Watch Canada have confirmed that they will attend the event and it is hoped someone from the Ministry of Natural Resources will also be in attendance.

Mayor Steve Pellegrini committed to a workshop after many local people became concerned about a flurry of recent coyote sightings, especially in the Carrying Place neighbourhood.

A Facebook group, Coyote Watch King Township, was started by King Township resident Shelagh Usher after her prize agility dog Montage was killed by coyotes last fall. Usher and her group have been tracking coyote sightings in King and calling for action regarding coyotes in King for the past number of months.
