The 12th Annual Family Literacy Day Celebration
Snapd Woodbridge and Vaughan East
Feb. 2016
Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) invited you to join them for their 12th Annual Family Literacy Day Celebration at the City Playhouse Theatre. On Jan. 21st, Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) and the City Playhouse Theatre invited families to the 12th annual FREE Family Literacy Day celebration at the City Playhouse Theatre. Guests came dressed in pyjamas and participated in an evening of fun-filled activities that inspired family literacy. There was song singing, story time with VPL librarians, puppet show making and fun arts & crafts. There were also imaginative stories and a special bedtime story event with Cary Fagan, author of Mr. Zinger’s Hat. Families who attended the Family Literacy Day celebration received a complimentary VPL tote bag (one bag per family, with ticket). A selection of VPL books were available at the event, so guests made sure they brought their library card to check out some great reading material. The City Playhouse Theatre takes pride in being a celebrated place for family entertainment in York Region. Overall, this was a great family literacy day celebration and it’s encouraging to know that after 12 years, the event is still going strong!
