Vaughan park snags stewardship grant

Three York Region projects have been awarded grants of up to $50,000 each to complete a green renewal facelift this upcoming year.

The Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS), through the Community Renewal Fund (CRF), has offered the grants for projects that use Ontario manufactured recycled rubber products.

Earning the grants in York are:

“The CRF is designed to encourage municipalities to rethink the way they approach building or updating community spaces and consider more sustainable options,” said Andrew Horsman, executive director of OTS.

“We are extremely happy to lend a helping hand to these forward-thinking communities and would like to congratulate all of this year’s grant recipients.”

Seven other grants were given out in six municipalities across Ontario.
