Ontario is helping manage congestion, provide more transit options and improve commutes for families in York Region with new all-day, two-way weekend GO train service connecting Aurora and Toronto.

Today, Steven Del Duca, Minister of Transportation, was at the future Downsview Park GO Station on the Barrie Line to announce that Ontario is further increasing GO service on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Starting Dec. 31, Metrolinx will introduce new year-round weekend and holiday GO train service between Aurora and Union Station, with trains running all day in both directions. GO bus service from Barrie will be extended to meet train service at Aurora GO Station throughout the day.

In addition, on weekends there will be three new southbound GO train trips between Barrie and Toronto in the morning and three back in the afternoon, as previously announced.

Ontario is making the largest infrastructure investment in hospitals, schools, public transit, roads and bridges in the province's history. To learn more about what's happening in your community, go to Ontario.ca/BuildON.
