Your local taxes are staying the same, Stouffville.

Whitchurch-Stouffville town council received the draft budget for 2017 at a council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 20.

Acting treasurer Brian Parrot gave a presentation to council where he said the 0.2 per cent tax rate was “essentially a neutral mark,” as stated in the report.

The estimated tax rate, however, can vary to adjust to York Region tax ratios changes.

The proposed operating budget outlines $63,228,459 in expenditures for 2017. The new draft budget shows an increase of $4,580,313 in expenditures from last year’s 2016 budget.

The town is seeking public input before the next council meeting on Jan. 24, when council will approve the final draft of the 2017 budget.
