The New Catholic Parish of St. Andre Bessette in Maple held their 2nd “Building A Vision” Gala, on Nov. 11th at the Fontana Primavera Event Centre, both to raise awareness and funds for the building of their Church.

The parish celebrated their very First Sunday Mass on September 8, 2013, on the Feast day of Our Blessed Mother’s Birthday. Since then, the parish has now grown to just over 1000 registered members. With their annual Gala Dinners, Golf Tournaments and other fund raising events, they hope to realize their dream of having a permanent Spiritual Home by 2019.
The gala had over 660 people in attendance among them many Priests from other Parishes, City and Regional Councillors of Vaughan, parochial schools, parishioners, and friends to show their support in fundraising for the future Church building. The evening was MC’d by Q107’s Elvira Caria and was filled with dancing, music, delicious food, many great prizes and a silent auction

Once built, St. Andre Bessette Parish will be situated on a generous plot of 5.5 acres of land located at 1085 Major Mackenzie Drive West (Major Mackenzie Drive and Thomas Cook Ave - between Dufferin and Bathurst Streets). The Church will house 900 parishioners, with ample parking of 400 parking spaces with an ecologically sensitive architectural design that expresses the spiritual and cultural aspirations of the Catholic community. With an Adoration Chapel and a Prayer Garden, St. Andre Bessette Parish seeks to bring the miraculous healing spirit of its patron saint, Brother Andre.
