Vaughan Public Libraries’ Tenth Library Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Nov. 12th a ground-breaking ceremony announced that Jasper Construction Corporation has been selected to build Vaughan Public Libraries’ (VPL) tenth library, which will be located at 1 Villa Royale Avenue connected to the Vellore Village Community Centre. ZAS Architects Inc. designed the new library, which is anticipated to open in late 2017. In attendance were: M.C. Margie Singleton, CEO, Vaughan Public Libraries; Honourable Maurizio Bevilacqua, PC, Mayor; Councillor Rosanna DeFrancesca, Ward 3; Devender Sandhu, Chair, Vaughan Public Library Board; Paul Stevens, Senior Principal, ZAS Architects + Interiors; John Appugliesi, President and CEO, Jasper Construction Corporation and other members of council. “This is another great moment for Vaughan Public Libraries and the residents of Vaughan. We are very pleased Jasper Construction Corporation will help us make this new library a reality.” said Devender Sandhu, Chair of Vaughan Public Library Board. “Like VPL’s other nine branches, Vellore Village South Library will positively enrich, inspire and transform our community.”
