Vaughan firefighters deliver piping hot pizza to social media contest winner

Rosario La Valle's dedication to fire safety scored his family a hot pizza delivered to their door by Vaughan firefighters.

La Valle tweeted out a picture of his son, Luca, dressed as a firefighter and holding a smoke detector to show the family had replaced their expired units with new ones as part of the #Checkthed8 social media challenge launched by fire services across the province during Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 9 to Oct. 15.

The picture earned him top honours in the local challenge and on Saturday, Oct. 15, he got the prize.
