The Town of the Blue Mountains has hired two individuals to serve on a roster of integrity commissioners.

Council voted on Monday to appoint Suzanne Craig and Janet Leiper as integrity commissioners for the municipality.

Craig serves as integrity commissioner for a number of municipalities including Barrie, Fort Erie, Pickering, Orillia and Vaughan.

Leiper served as commissioner for the City of Toronto from 2009-2014.

According to a report, they will be used on “a rotational basis based on availability, and on a case-by-case basis.”

Last month, the town held a public meeting on changes to the Code of Conduct and one of the changes was the hiring of an integrity commissioner.

All complaints will go through the clerk who will forward them to the integrity commissioner. The clerk has been tasked with working out a service agreement with the two individuals.
