Plaza & Berkeley's The Met to Join Vaughan's Emerging Core

In tandem with the coming opening of the new TTC Line 1 northwest terminus at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, a wave of proposed developments would populate what will eventually become Vaughan's new Downtown. The new subway station will support greatly increased densities in the area around Highway 7 and Jane Street, including a new high-rise development from Plaza and Berkeley dubbed The Met. Designed by Quadrangle Architects, the project consists of a 35-storey condominium tower containing 511 units that range in size from 510 sq. ft to 875 sq. ft. An adjacent collection of 62 townhomes is offering unit sizes in excess of 1,250 sq. ft.

To better appreciate the level of intensification coming to this corner of the Greater Toronto Area, a recent marketing video highlights The Met's position within the Downtown Vaughan plan.

The video considers the tower's design and its branding, before presenting The Met in relation to future nearby development. With context for the site provided, the 3D view closes in on the development again to highlight the building's specific features, including the tower's exterior details, the lobby space, and the townhome exteriors to name a few.

The second half of the video goes on to outline the various neighbourhood destinations and amenities. Proximity to rapid transit as well as the nearby York University campus are a major draw for students and commuters, while the continued build out of this area will add to the already ample selection of shopping and dining destinations.
