Province to undertake OMB review

October 5 the Government of Ontario announced it is undertaking a comprehensive review of the Ontario Municipal Board and is consulting the public on possible reforms to improve efficiency and accessibility. Specially, the province is seeking input on increased options for affordable public participation, clearer and more predictable decision making, fewer municipal and provincial matters brought to the board and the promotion of alternative dispute resolution methods.
Comments on the OMB review can be submitted online until December 19.
Several town hall meetings will take place across the GTA, including:
- Newmarket, October 18, 5:00 p.m., Trinity United Church, 461 Park Avenue
- Clarington, October 20, 5:00 p.m., Newcastle Community Hall, 20 King Avenue West
- Hamilton, October 24, 5:00 p.m., Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection, 821 Upper Wentworth Street
- Oakville, November 3, 5:00 p.m., Oakville Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road
- Toronto, November 15, 5:00 p.m., Metro Toronto Convention Centre North Building Room 201, 222 Bremner Boulevard
