Vaughan city hall hosts Hispanic Heritage Celebration, flag raising

Event runs Saturday, Oct. 15 starting at 5 p.m.

More than 7,000 Latinos call Vaughan home.

To celebrate their contributions to the city, Fuerza Latina Community Services has organized a Hispanic Heritage Celebration and flag raising ceremony Saturday, Oct. 15 at city hall.

The event kicks off with the raising the flags of 20 Latin American countries at 5 p.m.
Following that, at 6 p.m., is performances by Grupo Tinkusay, Jorge & Yuri Mariachi, Valerie Villamar, Manny Cardenes, Jennie Dapello, Fernando Mejia, Monica Guzman, and Annalia Guevara.

A number of dignitaries will be on hand including: Consulate General of El Salvador Oscar Armando Toledo Soriano, Consulate General of Panama Maryorie Bravo, Consulate General of Paraguay Mario Masayuki Toyotoshi, Consulate General of Venezuela Martha Pardo de Marquez and Vice consul of Peru Sandra Moran.
